Default dwarven vs. crystalline

i know that dwarven axes and crystalline swords are 2 of the rarest weapons in the game but which one is actually more rare? now i know you all are going to say crystalline swords are the rarest, but i belive dwarven axes are more rare. out of 10 months of playing guild wars, ive seen at least 50 different people with crystalline swords and i frequently see people spamming WTB and WTS for them in towns. now, out of those 10 months ive never seen anyone (except the dwarves in droks) with a dwarven axe and ive only seen somone spamming WTS once....crystalline swords may be more expensive, but are they actually the rarest? dwarven axes are less (i think) but are they not as rare as crystalline swords? in my opinion, i think dwarven axes are actually more rare but less money and crystalline swords are more money but a bit more common compared to dwarvens.

Crystallines are the rarest, and with that rareity, they are much more saught after by players than Dwarvens Axes/Hammers, henhce you see more.

Crystallines are rarer, just more people want them.

Dont forget Serpent axes(not sephis), how often do you see people selling them?

People say Crystalline is the rarest but i could go in game now and find one within 10-20 minutes a dwarven axe is another story.

No real way to say which is rarer , if you have trouble finding one then this could be because there rarer but it could also be there more popular so they sell less and are taken of market quite quickly .

Max tyrian sickles don't exist, and I have white dwarvens, so I think there is a way to tell.

On the other hand, Crystallines are hideous but Dwarven Axes actually look cool.

I laugh whenever I see a warrior with a crystalline sword because I know he spent stupid amounts of cash for it yet could have gotten something that actually looks good for a fraction of the amount.

I too am not a big fan of Crystallines. Dwarven Axes look okay, but I'm a simple man, I actually like War Axes better, go figure >.<

let me put it this way.
as someone who makes it a mission to catalogue extremely high end weapons; i know of far more perfect (r8, perfect dmg mods) crystallines than dwarven axes.
to be specific; i know of X9 r8 15>50 crystallines, the most popular mod; 4 of which reside on active accounts.
in comparison i know of only X3 r8 15>50 dwarven axes; NONE of which reside on an active account.
i know of X5 8 15.50 serpant axes, 3 of which reside on active accounts.

i myself own several crystallines (including a r8 15>50), and 2 dwarvens; r9 15>50 and r9 15 -5.
i own 3 serpent axes; r8 15>50, r8 20<50, r8 14% no cond.

however, to be fair, crystallines are worth more, so its more likely that an owner will sell one. and it is FAR more likely that i will learn of the existance of one if it changes hands; but for the most part, the information i've provided is pretty damn accurate (as far as it concerns the general population), and a pretty good indication of their rarity.

what this indicates is that overall i would say crystallines are rarer than either; but you're more likely to come across one; simply because of the popularity inherent in their rarity.

Hey, Akh, I must be retarded or something, because I don't get what you're saying. You say there are more crystallines than dwarvens, but that crystallines are rarer? Maybe it's just me, but could you explain what you mean a bit better?

I've found (and sold) many more Crystallines than Dwarvens, so I'd say Dwarven is significantly more rare then Crystalline.

However..... the demand for Crystallines is very high, and the demand for Dwarvens is rather low. Hence, Crystallines are more profitable.

The thread is about Dwarfens and Crystlines ,,, so I wouldnt have been talking about sickles in the firstplace .... also I am talking about rare items (sorry if I didnt make that at all clear) because dwarfens dropped from the frozen/steel chests awhile back.

Dwarven axes seems to be a little rarer. I found one in the chest after completing fow forge, purple, 14^50, and another shity mod. The look still compensates anything, it's pretty cool.

It's so unfair that I have to wade through the mud of HA to actually get a chance at a decent Gold Dwarven (well without re-mortgaging the house). If only Gold Dwarvens dropped elsewhere. I really couldn't care less for the crummy looking Crystaline's. How did something so ugly become so popular?

In my time, I've seen a number of Crytalines selling in game. Never ever seen anything more than a 'WTB' for a Dwarven...

PS: If you do a search on Guru, you'll see a fair few have gone for sale.

One thing I have always wondered, why are all these ultra rare weapons all for Warriors, sure there are rare skins for other classes, but these rarest of rares are all warrior weapons.

Don't forget the platinum wand. Very rare. One with the suiting mods is almost impossible to get your hands on. Another example is a perfect ghostly staff. Those 2-3 different class types mods on one stave are not helping either.

On topic, I think dwarven axes are in lower number on the market. I don't know if they're more rare than crystalines but I do have the impression.
